They Might Be Dying But, They’re Not Dead

After having a rocky last few years, metalcore band AS I LAY DYING has announced the release of their seventh studio album on Sept. 20, 2019. The new album will be titled Shaped By Fire, which is also the title of their new single that they just released a video for. This will be their first album since their lead singer, Tim Lambesis, was sentenced to six years in jail. He has since been released on parole and is now trying to create a positive message with his music. Regarding that incident and what has happened since, AS I LAY DYING has said, “We are tremendously grateful to have found positive resolve from the worst moments of our history. The previous chapter of our journey was one of pervasive hurt and pain. Subsequent years found us on varied paths—all of which slowly led towards resolutions of growth, healing, and reconciliation. AS I LAY DYING‘s collective purpose is to share a message of hope for everyone through the empowering outlet of music, and we are humbled by the overwhelming support we have received from family, friends, and fans so far.”

Shaped By Fire will be released through German record label Nuclear Blast Worldwide. The label has worked with other metal bands like Slayer, Machine Head, Rob Zombie and many more. With Nuclear Blast Worldwide being the label behind those bands, I know this will be a quality record.

AS I LAY DYING is currently on the Latin American leg of their “Shaped By Fire” tour. In September they will be heading to Europe with Chelsea Grin, Unearth and Fit For A King. Finally, they will be ending the tour in America starting in Las Vegas and going throughout the country. They will be playing the American tour with After The Burial and Emmure. They will be in 26 cities in America so check them out at the stop closest to you! You can pre-order the album here!
